Pest control and termite barriers on the Sunshine Coast
Termites don’t announce themselves. By the time you see damage, they’ve usually been in the timber for a while. We provide termite inspections, termite barriers and general pest control for Sunshine Coast homes, and we always inspect before we talk about treatment.
Why termites are a real risk for Sunshine Coast homes
South East Queensland’s warm, humid climate suits termites. They eat timber from the inside, so a frame, floor joist or skirting board can look fine on the surface while most of it’s gone underneath.
Left alone, termite damage reaches the structure of the building, and repairs get expensive. Catching it early with a termite inspection is almost always cheaper than fixing it later.
Sam, our lead inspector, is a qualified carpenter with a medium rise builders licence and more than 20 years in the building industry. He knows what termites do to a frame because he’s spent his career building them.
Termite and pest services on the Sunshine Coast
Three services that work together. Most jobs start with the inspection.
Termite barriers
A termite barrier stops termites getting from the ground into the building. There are options for new builds and existing homes, and the right one depends on how your place is built. We’ll explain the choices before you commit to anything.
General pest control
Pest control for common household pests, inside and around the home. We’ll tell you what we’re treating, where, and what to watch for afterwards.
Termite and timber pest inspections
A non-invasive inspection with an easy-to-read report and photos, done to the Australian Standards. It’s the right starting point before any termite treatment, and it’s what you want before you buy.
From termite inspection to treatment
Nothing gets done to your house until you’ve seen the report and the quote.
- Book in. Get in touch and we aim to have your inspection booked within 48 hours.
- We inspect. We check for termite activity, existing damage and the conditions termites look for. You’re welcome to meet us on site and go through it with us.
- You get the report. Plain English, with photos. It’s guaranteed within 24 hours, and usually arrives within hours.
- We recommend and quote. If you need termite treatment or a barrier, we’ll tell you why, what it involves and what it costs before any work starts.
- We keep an eye on it. A barrier only works if it’s checked. We’ll tell you how often your property should be looked at.

What are the signs of termites in a house?
Look for mud tubes running up walls, piers or stumps, timber that sounds hollow when tapped, bubbling or cracked paint, doors and windows that start to stick, and discarded wings near windowsills. If you spot any of these, don’t disturb them. Book an inspection so we can see the activity as it is.
How often should I get a termite inspection?
The Australian Standard recommends at least once a year, and more often where the risk is higher. After the first inspection we’ll tell you what suits your property.
What’s the difference between pest control and a termite barrier?
General pest control deals with the pests you see around the home. A termite barrier is about stopping termites reaching the timber in the first place. It’s worth thinking about both.
Do I need a termite inspection before treatment?
Yes. We need to know whether there’s activity already, how the house is built and where the risks are before we recommend anything. Treating without looking is guesswork.
Can a termite barrier go in on an existing home?
Often, yes. What’s possible depends on the slab, the construction and the access around the house. After the inspection we’ll tell you what will work on your place.
I’m buying a house on the Sunshine Coast. What should I get?
A pre-purchase building and timber pest inspection. It covers building defects and timber pest activity in one report, before you’re committed.
